Individuals: Since we personally ride 650s and 700s, all the options below have plenty of power for one person.
Couples: A 1300 would be advisable for adequate power and comfort, but it is possible on the 800.
Seat Height: Pick a bike where you can place at least the balls of both feet on the ground when stopped.
Experience: You should have at least one year of experience on a bike in the same class as the rental: 450–850cc or 851–1300cc. Choose a size that allows you to be comfortable with low-speed maneuvers, U-turns, hill starts, emergency braking, and riding with luggage or a passenger, if applicable. If you are unsure, choose the smaller class—you will ride more confidently and enjoy the trip more.
